With historical vacancy rates from October 2002, the REIV collects vacancy rates and rental data from Members and view.com.au leases on a monthly basis.
The vacancy rate in metropolitan Melbourne went back to 2.5 per cent in September 2025, while regional Victoria held steady at 1.9 per cent for the fourth consecutive month.
Median weekly rents remained unchanged over the month at $580 for metropolitan Melbourne houses and $500 for regional Victoria houses.
