Member feedback on the Victorian Government’s Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) on Building Electrification has been collated and will be relayed to government for review. Membership consensus indicates that Option 1, the electrification of all new residential and commercial buildings, is the preferred option in the absence of an alternative option that limits the impact of regulations on existing residential properties. The cost impact and feasibility of the electrification of existing real estate are expected to be far more significant than estimates suggest.
